Our Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Programmes contribute to Sustainable Development Goal 6, which seek to achieve access to clean water and sanitation for all.
Over the years, INGH has contributed to developing safe and clean water sources for several communities. These include piped water systems, boreholes (hand-pumps and mechanized), rainwater harvesters and distribution of water filters.
INGH has also been involved in the provision of improved sanitation facilities, especially for underserved schools and a few communities. Our hygiene interventions are mostly school-based and involve engagement of pupils on hand and menstrual hygiene. It includes the provision of girls’ changing room in washrooms for girls to manage their menstrual cycles in a dignified manner. These projects have contributed to physical health, dignity and quality of life of people across underserved communities across the Volta, Oti, Eastern and Greater Accra.
